After a 6,145-day journey, the Fontainebleau Las Vegas finally opened its doors to the public. The grand opening of the casino resort was a spectacle that attracted a star-studded guest list and attracted attention from the industry media around the world.
The Fontainebleau Las Vegas, a sister property to the Miami resort, first broke ground in February 2007.
The project, led by Jeffrey Soffer, was initially planned to open in October 2009. However, the journey to completion was fraught with numerous challenges, including changes in ownership, bankruptcy, and construction was halted several times.
Despite these setbacks, the project persevered, and the Fontainebleau Las Vegas now stands as the tallest occupied building in Nevada and is the first resort to open on the Strip since 2021.
The grand opening was a lavish affair, with a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Fontainebleau Las Vegas executives, local government officials, and community dignitaries.
The event was also graced by a whole host of celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Cher, Tom Brady, Sylvester Stallone, and Justin Timberlake, who headlined the opening of David Grutman’s LIV Nightclub.
The 67-story resort boasts more than 3,600 exquisite hotel rooms and suites, a stunning 150,000 sq.ft gaming floor, world-class dining, plus stacks of entertainment and nightlife options.
The huge gaming floor offers the usual variety of table games, slots, a modern sportsbook, and an exclusive experience for high-limit players who wish to play in private areas.
