German Poker Pro Tops Massive Field of 5,045 Entries in $2,650 Buy-In Tournament, Chris Moneymaker Finishes Sixth

Four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Dominik Nitsche secured another major victory this week. Competing under the screen name ‘Texxassss’, Nitsche emerged victorious in ACR Poker’s Venom event, which boasted a $12.5 million guarantee for a $2,650 buy-in. Nitsche defeated a field of 5,045 entries, earning an impressive $1,818,044.

Nitsche was joined by several notable players who also made deep runs and took home significant portions of the $12,612,500 prize pool. Among the top nine finishers were reigning WSOP Player of the Year Ian ‘RiverRiot72’ Matakis (9th - $148,600), ACR ambassador and 2003 WSOP Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker (6th - $382,007), and 2023 Mid-States Poker Tour Michigan Main Event champion Kou ‘AK_Dont_Play’ Vang (4th - $716,844).

Matakis' tournament ended dramatically when his pocket kings were cracked by Nitsche’s pocket sixes, with Nitsche hitting the only out for a set on a cards-up delayed live stream hosted on ACR Poker’s Twitch channel.

Chris Moneymaker finished in sixth place after his pocket tens were bested by the K-Q of ‘Anzuelitico’. Moneymaker moved all-in on a king-high flop but found no help on the turn or river.

“Playing a tournament like the Venom is truly a blessing. A $12.5 million guarantee is absolutely nuts! I am blessed to have final-tabled this event twice and hope to continue having success in fields like this,” Moneymaker said in a statement released by ACR Poker.

Vang exited in fourth place when his A-2 suited couldn’t overcome the pocket queens of ‘Push0rdie’. After ‘Anzuelitico’ was eliminated in third place ($1,013,515), the heads-up showdown between Nitsche and ‘Push0rdie’ commenced. Nitsche started with 59 big blinds against ‘Push0rdie’s’ 131.

The two players battled for around 50 minutes. Nitsche took the lead and extended his advantage to roughly 5:3 by the time the final hand occurred. ‘Push0rdie’ raised with A♠ K♩, Nitsche three-bet with K♠ 6♠, and ‘Push0rdie’ four-bet. Nitsche called. The flop brought K♄ 6♄ 2♩, giving Nitsche top two pair. After a bet from ‘Push0rdie’ and a check-call from Nitsche, the turn came 5♄. Nitsche moved all-in, and ‘Push0rdie’ called. The river J♄ didn’t change the

outcome, and ‘Push0rdie’ was eliminated in second place, earning $1,345,186.
